# Environments

Stakaba uses a single base URL for both sandbox and live traffic. The API key you send determines which environment runs.

## Environment separation

| Environment | API Key       | Real money | Dashboard      |
| ----------- | ------------- | ---------- | -------------- |
| Sandbox     | `sk_test_...` | No         | Test workspace |
| Live        | `sk_live_...` | Yes        | Live workspace |

Sandbox and live data are completely isolated. A transaction created with a sandbox key never appears in your live dashboard and vice versa.

## Content-Type

All requests must include:

## Rate limits

| Tier    | Limit               |
| ------- | ------------------- |
| Sandbox | 100 requests/minute |
| Live    | 300 requests/minute |

Exceeding the limit returns `HTTP 429 Too Many Requests`. Implement exponential backoff and retry.
